To be honest, I only like the CloudXSephiroth fanfics that stay close to the canon and are NOT full of fluff for the yaoi fangirls/fanboys. I want to see fanfics where Sephiroth does not remember who he is and how Cloud and his friends deal with him and see his human side.
I like their relationship in how it's not really a typical hero-villain antagonism, it's mainly the hero who looked up to and straight-up ADMIRED the fallen hero and the fallen hero-turned-villain is now obsessed with him and HATES him out of his hurt pride. The villain also does not take the hero seriously until HE DEFEATS HIM at the end of FF7, where he prevents himself from the Lifestream by LATCHING ONTO the hero and having the hero never forget him.
